PROUD TO BE  CALLED  A TROUBLEMAKER?

Some on the Board call me a “troublemaker” because I refuse to sit quietly and rubber-stamp closed-door decisions. Asking tough questions, demanding legal compliance, and insisting on full financial transparency isn’t causing trouble—it’s fulfilling my fiduciary duty to you.

What I’m Fighting For at The Towers

  • Equal Management Rights & Legal Oversight: Management and Executive Leadership recently conducted an unauthorized, off-line vote to block me from submitting formal legal questions to Association Counsel. As an elected Director, I am entitled to equal management rights under Illinois law. Blocking a sitting board member from getting legal clarity on board procedures hides vital legal standards from unit owners.
  • Honest Budgeting: I voted NO on the 2027 budget and filed a formal Notice of Dissent because capital expenditure lines were left at “$0.00.” You deserve real numbers, not blank lines.
  • Equal Access to Information: Management currently strips explanatory budget notes from the unit owner copy while keeping them for the Board. What the Board sees, unit owners must see.
  • Complete Public Records: Executive leadership systematically leaves director motions and legal inquiries out of the official minutes. Transparency requires an accurate, unedited historical record of board proceedings.
  • Uncompromising Legal Oversight: I am actively fighting the practice of illegal off-line board polling and executive gatekeeping of Association Counsel. What the Board faces legally, the unit owners have a right to know.

STAND WITH ME: HOW YOU CAN MAKE OUR VOICE LOUDER

One director asking tough questions can be ignored, but an informed, active community cannot. Here is how you can help bring real accountability back to The Towers:

  • Cast Your Vote for Transparency: Vote to re-elect Kathy Posner on October 6th. Remember, even if you already submitted a ballot, you can change your vote right up until the start of the Annual Meeting.
  • Attend the Annual Meeting & Board Meetings: Turn out on Zoom and in person. Your physical presence forces executive leadership to conduct business out in the open.
  • Demand Unredacted Financials & Minutes: Exercise your statutory right under Section 19 of the Illinois Condominium Property Act to inspect complete corporate records, unredacted budget notes, and unedited meeting minutes.
  • Speak Up During Owner Comments: Ask the Board directly why director motions are left out of official minutes and why explanatory budget notes are hidden from owners.
  • Spread the Word: Talk to your neighbors, share this website www.TheTowersCondos.com and make sure every owner knows they have the power to demand honest governance.

Together, we can ensure that transparency isn’t treated like “trouble”—it’s treated as the standard.
